Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Studio Lightchild LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Versepace mobile application (the "App") and related services. We are committed to handling your personal data securely and transparently, in line with applicable privacy laws and the requirements of the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

When you create an account or use the App, we may collect:

  • Account details: email address, first name, and authentication credentials when you sign up or sign in (including via Google or Apple)
  • Profile information: preferences and settings you configure in the App (for example notification preferences and Bible translation choice)
  • Prayer requests: the text of prayer submissions, timestamps, anonymity choice, moderation status, and related community activity (such as when you indicate that you prayed for someone)
  • Reading plan data: curated plans you start, custom/personal plans you create, progress, completion history, reminder schedules, and plan settings
  • Reports and support: content you submit when reporting a prayer request or contacting us for help

Information collected automatically

When you use the App, we may automatically collect:

  • Usage and analytics data: features you use, navigation and interaction events (for example verse reads, shares, translation changes, notification opens), and related timestamps
  • Onboarding activity: steps completed during the pre-account product tour, associated with a device/install identifier until you create an account
  • Search activity: queries you enter when searching for reading plans, used to improve discoverability
  • Device and app information: device type, operating system version, and app version
  • Push notification tokens: if you enable notifications, so we can deliver plan reminders and (where applicable) prayer-related notifications
  • Local device data: preferences and UI state stored on your device (for example onboarding progress, dismissed announcements)

We do not sell your personal information to advertising networks or data brokers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and maintain your account and secure sessions
  • Deliver reading plans, reminders, progress tracking, and home announcements
  • Operate the community Prayer Wall, including displaying approved prayer requests
  • Screen prayer submissions for safety (see Section 5)
  • Send notifications for plan reminders and, when enabled, when someone prays for your request
  • Moderate community content, review reports, and enforce safety guidelines
  • Improve plan discovery, search, onboarding, and overall App performance
  • Understand product usage through analytics (including aggregated reports)
  • Communicate important updates, including optional or required App updates
  • Respond to support requests and legal inquiries
  • Maintain a limited audit trail of account deletions for security and operational integrity

4. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party providers to operate the App. These services process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies:

  • Supabase: user authentication, database storage, and backend infrastructure. Database access is protected by row-level security policies where applicable.
  • Google Sign-In: optional authentication if you choose to sign in with Google
  • Apple Sign-In: optional authentication if you choose to sign in with Apple
  • Google Gemini (Google AI): automated safety screening of prayer request text before publication (see Section 5)
  • Expo and platform push services: delivery of notifications through your device's operating system (Apple Push Notification service / Firebase Cloud Messaging as applicable)

We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

The scripture text shown in the App is provided by third-party Bible licensors and is subject to their licenses (see in-App Bible Attribution).

5. Prayer Wall, AI Screening, and Moderation

The Prayer Wall includes user-submitted content that may be visible to other signed-in users.

  • Automated screening: Prayer request text is sent to Google's Gemini AI models for safety classification before the request is published. The model helps decide whether content should be approved, blocked, or held for further review.
  • Human review: Sensitive or borderline content may be held for human review. Our team may also review user reports.
  • Anonymous posting: You may choose to submit a prayer request without displaying your name on the wall. Anonymity affects what other users see; it does not remove the request from our systems or from moderation.
  • Reporting: Users can report prayer requests they believe are inappropriate. Reports are reviewed and may result in content removal or account action.

Content that violates our community guidelines may be blocked, delayed, removed, or flagged for review.

6. Your Choices and Data Deletion

You have control over your information:

  • Account settings: update your profile and notification preferences in the App
  • Prayer requests: view and manage your submissions in My Prayer Requests
  • Notifications: enable or disable plan reminder notifications in the App (and via your device settings)
  • Account deletion: delete your account from Profile in the App. This initiates removal of your account and associated App data from our active systems (including prayer submissions, prayer participation records, and plan data associated with your account)

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's features.

When you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our active systems. Some information may be retained for a limited period as required by law, to resolve disputes, to enforce our agreements, or for security and abuse prevention. This may include a non-public record that an account with a given internal identifier was deleted.

Aggregated or anonymized data that cannot reasonably identify you may be retained for analytics and service improvement.

Prayer content that was already shared with the community may leave residual traces in other users' devices or caches after deletion; we remove it from our active systems as described above.

8. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on our database infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@versepace.com and we will take steps to delete that information.

10. International Users

Versepace is operated from the United States. If you use the App from another country, you understand that your information may be processed in the United States and in other locations where our service providers operate.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
